How to Connect to an ARK Server via IP Address

If you have an ARK: Survival Ascended or ARK: Survival Evolved server and want to connect directly via IP address, you can easily do so by following these steps:

Find the IP address of your ARK server first.

  1. If you are renting a server from a provider, check the server’ s IP address and port number in the provider’s management system.
    • The IP will be in this format but with different numbers: 192.168.1.2:27015
  2. If you are hosting the server yourself, open the server configuration file or check from the machine where you are running the server.

There are two methods to connect to an ARK server via IP Address:

Method 1: Use the “connect” command

  1. Open the game ARK: Survival Ascended or ARK: Survival Evolved on Steam
  2. Press the button, click on Join ARK in the main menu, and enter single-player mode.
  3. Press Tab to open the Console.
  4. In the Console, type the command open [IP Address]:[Port]. For example, if your server has an IP of 192.168.1.2:27015, type open 192.168.1.2:27015.
  5. Press Enter and wait for the game to connect to the server.

Method 2 : Add a server to your Favorites

  1. Open Steam and go to View > Servers
  2. Click on the Favorites tab and press the Add A Server button.
  3. Enter the IP address and port of the server, then click Add.
  4. Go back to the game and select a server from the Favorites tab for easier access.

Potential Issues and Solutions

  • Unable to connect: Please check if the server is online and try restarting the game. If the issue persists, contact your server provider.
  • Firewall blocking connections: If you are the server host, please ensure that the ports used for ARK are open.
  • The game versions are not matching: Please ensure that the game and server are using the same version.
